Every reasonable effort will be made to update the Belleville Khoury League website prior to 2 hours before the start time of any scheduled game when the weather or field conditions are questionable.
If it becomes obvious earlier that games will ultimately be cancelled, the Belleville Khoury League website will be updated earlier.
If there is a possibility that our field crews might be able to get some of our fields ready in spite of questionable conditions, an update will be posted on the Belleville Khoury League website reflecting that status, with periodic updates posted to the extent practical.
Belleville Khoury League will make every reasonable effort to ready a diamond after it has been raining. In the event that the diamond is determined to be unsafe, the game shall be postponed and rescheduled following the Belleville Khoury League Rescheduling Process.
In some cases, it may seem inevitable that games will be cancelled due to approaching weather. Belleville Khoury League will not cancel games until and unless there is inclement weather at the field or until the fields become unsafe for play. This will sometimes result in a cancellation at or around actual game time, which can be frustrating for some. However we have found that the weather in the St. Louis region is often unpredictable and if games are cancelled before such conditions exist, the weather can trick us all and we will miss a good opportunity to get our games played.
Per Khoury League rules, when the HEAT INDEX reaches 100 degrees or more, all games are to be immediately suspended and no new game can begin.
In the event lighting is seen or thunder is heard, all managers, coaches, and parents must remain vigilant and ensure conditions are still safe for the players. If lighting is seen or thunder is heard within the vicinity of the park, all games, practices, tournaments, and other events are immediately suspended for at least 30 minutes. Only when 30 minutes has passed after the last lightning is seen or the last thunder is heard, should these activities resume.
In the event the National Weather Service issues a Severe Thunderstorm Watch or a Tornado Watch, all managers, coaches, and parents must remain vigilant and ensure conditions are still safe for the players.
In the event the National Weather Service issues a Severe Thunderstorm Warning or a Tornado Warning, all Belleville Khoury League sponsored games, practices, tournaments, and other events are immediately cancelled. All Belleville Khoury League parks are immediately closed, and patrons must vacate the parks as quickly as possible.
At the moment storm sirens sound, all Belleville Khoury League facilities, including Arnold Field, Midland Fields, West End fields, and all practice areas, are immediately closed. All Belleville Khoury League practices, whether on Belleville Khoury League property or not are also immediately cancelled. All members and guests should proceed to their vehicles and vacate the parks in a calm and orderly fashion.
The parents of the players are solely responsible for the care of their respective child. In the event a parent deems a situation is unsafe, the parent has the right and the responsibility to remove their child from the game, practice, or other event.
